Schotten & Hansen is an international company focusing on refining wood into floorboards and interior design elements. They approached me to define a brand, communication and content strategy. And to tell their story. Over the period of one year I created the story «The path to mindful space».
We wanted to tell an emotional story about wood and created «The path to mindful space». Three chapters about the process from nature to the manufactory to architecture. To create a coffee table book with compelling, visual and informative content.
Over the period of one year I looked deep into the forest and talked to the managing board, rangers, architects, designers and wood specialists to create the story which represents Schotten & Hansen and their process of refining wood surfaces.
Made for generations
The 120 pages thick book aims to address designers, architects and potential customers. To make them understand the process of refining wood and the quality of wood surfaces made for generations. Emotional and informative at the same time.

From the handpicking of trees in the forrest to treating the surface with natural and handmade essences: Schotten & Hansen loves details and so do we. That´s why all elements in the book were specifically produced to fit the story.
